About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Liberty, Texas, Los Compadres offers an authentic taste of Mexican cuisine that feels like a warm embrace from an old friend. This beloved Mexican restaurant delights locals and visitors alike with a menu bursting with bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions designed to satisfy every craving.

The culinary highlight at Los Compadres is undoubtedly their enchiladas, crafted with care and tradition. Whether you choose the classic Enchiladas Mexicanas—folded corn tortillas stuffed with grated Mexican cheese smothered in their signature sauce and topped with crisp lettuce, potatoes, and carrots—or opt for the creamy indulgence of Enchiladas De Crema topped with sour cream sauce, each bite tells a story of rich heritage. For a heartier option, adding fajitas elevates these dishes to a sumptuous feast.

Seafood lovers will revel in the flavorful Filete A La Plancha, featuring perfectly grilled fish resting on a bed of fluffy rice accompanied by golden fries and fresh salad. The Camarones Fritos serve up six golden-fried shrimp with tangy tartar sauce, offering a delightful contrast in textures. Every dish at Los Compadres is a celebration of traditional Mexican flavors elevated with fresh, local ingredients.

Start your meal with their mouthwatering appetizers like Potato Nachos, generously topped with your choice of beef or chicken fajita, beans, sliced avocado, melted cheese, and a dollop of sour cream that adds creamy indulgence to every crunch. Or savor the Mexican Quesadillas, bursting with your choice of shrimp, chorizo, or fajita meats, served alongside cooling guacamole and sour cream to balance the smoky fillings.

The drink menu at Los Compadres is also a showstopper, a perfect complement to their vibrant cuisine. From the refreshing zest of the Pineapple Margarita and the sweet allure of the Blackberry Margarita to the uniquely memorable Watermelon Margarita, the cocktails entice with fresh fruit flavors and a spirited kick. Don’t miss their expertly crafted Bloody Mary for a savory start or an ice-cold Corona to accompany your meal.

But what truly sets Los Compadres apart is the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a genuine hospitality that makes you feel like part of the family. Guests consistently praise the staff’s friendliness and attentive service—whether winding down from a long day or celebrating a special occasion, the vibe is relaxed and inviting.

Longtime visitors like Mark S recount how the owner makes every visit personal by greeting families with open arms, creating a sense of belonging that keeps diners coming back. I have to say this is one of the BEST Mexican restaurants I have been to, and i am very picky too since I'm used to good Mexican food in Houston. They hit the 3: Food, Salsa, and Drinks. The food is amazing. My husband had the parrillada, and I had the quesadillas. The salsa is good, but not spice. My 20 month old was dipping his chip, lol Let me tell you about the drinks! They are AMAZING! HIGHLY recommend this place. I think this is our new spot.

Just ate here with my daughter. I wasn't that hungry so ate queso, salsa and chips anf my daughter ordered the chicken enchiladas. The salsa was amazing! The presentation of her food was great. It came out to us with the sauce on her plate literally boiling still! The plate was real hot. The waiter was helpful and nice. This place definitely has gotten better than when it first opened. We will be back more often now!
